Christine J. Higgins

Biography

As  an experienced art educator, I acquired many techniques and skills to share with my students.  I integrate a love of the arts with my knowledge of color theory, spatial awareness and composition.  Studio art was my major at Marietta College, Ohio, and Integrated Arts for my M.Ed. from Lesley University, Mass.

Artist statement

The natural environment is my inspiration and muse.  Concerned about a future for an earth we cannot take for granted; this awareness is increasingly reflected in my work.    Art making for me is a tactile and intuitive expression.   I love combining printing techniques with my own artist made papers, some of which use plant fibers from my gardens.
